Re: Saw this link...
Fri, September 25, 2009 - 5:42 PMThe Otherbookistani Minister of Evil reports that she saw a prototype at Maker Faire and was not impressed - her report states that Miss Admamme could do significantly better. We are still awaiting the logistical report from the Minister of Ordnance. -

Re: Saw this link...
Fri, September 25, 2009 - 6:27 PMThe Empress is correct. I specifically sought out and met the "manufacturers" at Maker Faire. I first met them as we were both entering and spoke with them prior to seeing the actual product. The report was written after meeting them again later in the day and closely inspecting their product.
Here is an exerpt from the Otherbookistan Ministry of Evil Official Report, Dated 1 June 2009:
I suspect what I saw was a concept piece, however even with that in mind, it was a terrible and shoddy execution of a great idea.
The "corset" was one of these in black ( www.amazon.com/Escante-Do.../B000GFDE3E ) with a few quick release plastic buckles on nylon webbing over the back laces. Over this was basically a webbed nylon belt with lots of military surplus black webbed pouches on it. It was the most disappointing thing I have ever seen and they were so *proud* of it. I felt kind of sorry for them.
The door is wide open for a talented designer with actual building skills (ahem, Autumn are you listening?) to do this right. -
