    Yes a lady would wear gloves, think just south of the arctic circle, in winter. Think snow.

    Yes! Gloves are essential for the complete outer wear look.

      of course you need to wear gloves...
      your hands aren't supposed to be shackled inside the muff, even if they are.
      it is assumed that at some point you'd like to remove your hands, even if it's just so that a gentleman can assist you into a carriage.

        You might even be wearing dress gloves under outdoor gloves under the muff, if it were real cold.

        (That being said, I've been known to jam my hands in a muff for a quick run to the necessary. Of course, unless I'm actively working or at home, I'm wearing gloves, because I'm a lady and A LADY NEVER GOES OUT WITHOUT HER BONNET AND GLOVES!
